1. Pan’s Labyrinth

“Pan’s Labyrinth” is a dark fantasy film directed by Guillermo del Toro. It was released in 2006, and it revolves around a girl who discovers a fantastical world inside a labyrinth, all while the Spanish Civil War is at its peak.

Roma is a 2018 black-and-white film written and directed by Alfonso Cuarón. The film follows Cleo, a live-in housekeeper for a family in the middle class neighborhood of Roma in Mexico City. A ten-year-old girl wishes for her missing mother to come back, but it ends up coming true and her spirit follows her everywhere. A horror movie that showcases the terror that comes from violence.

7. La Estrategia del Caracol

If you like movies with a lot of heart, this one’s for you. The film tells the story of people who face eviction from their apartment complex in Bogotá. It’s a classic underdog tale. If this sounds like your kind of movie, then watch La Estrategia del Caracol!

8. Ya no estoy aquí

Ulises Samperio is a 17-year-old Mexican boy who, after a misunderstanding with members of a local cartel, is forced to emigrate to the United States. 9. A Fantastic Woman

A Fantastic Woman is a 2018 Chilean drama film directed by Sebastián Lelio, starring Daniela Vega as Marina Vidal, a transgender woman who must face the loss of her older lover Orlando. The movie has received critical acclaim and many awards since its release, particularly for its star’s performance.

10. All About my Mother

It’s about Esteban’s search for his father, which his mother Manuela carefully hid. The movie is set in Barcelona, Spain and is directed by Pedro Almodovar. It’s a drama that will give you an insight into the lives of other people while you are learning Spanish at the same time!
